Do I need a smog check?
Many California vehicles need a Smog Check for registration renewal or when sold/transferred. Requirements depend on factors such as vehicle type, model year, location, and DMV notice. Check your renewal notice or the official BAR guidance.
What if my vehicle doesn’t pass?
We’ll explain the result and provide your inspection paperwork. A failed inspection is not a promise that repairs will fix the issue. You can review California’s Consumer Assistance Program and other options through BAR.
Are any vehicles exempt?
Some vehicles and situations may be exempt, including certain newer, older, electric, hybrid, diesel, and transfer scenarios. Rules change, so confirm your specific vehicle with the DMV or BAR before booking.
Are you affiliated with the DMV or BAR?
No. TNT Smog Check is an independent automotive business licensed by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. We are not a government office or an affiliate of the DMV.
